Royal and companies are all about new

POSTED ON November 12, 2008 10:05 PM

It seems everything is new at Royal Caribbean.

Royal is the parent company of Celebrity Cruises who will officially launch the Solstice their first new ship under the brand since 2002

Now the line has come up with a new campaign your going to be seeing in newspapers and in fact all media over the weeks to come.

“The Nation of Why Not” is a new campaign created by their new agency JWT.

It suggests that with their large mega ships that include Flow Riders, rock walls, skating rinks and the such, offer you a chance to secede from land and try something new--yes they even have skating rinks.

On the face of it, I’m not sure if it hits the mark, however I am a wait and see guy so I will wait till I see it in print or online before I pass comment. I hope you will let me know what you think.

Ft Lauderdale is turning out to be the winner when it comes to home porting new ships this winter season.

Carnival Splendor will sail Caribbean itineraries before leaving on South American voyages lasting 14-18 days.

The newly anointed Ruby Princess will be sailing the Caribbean, along withe the Eurodam, Royal’s giant Independence of the Seas, and the ship that we mentioned earlier the Solstice are all based out of Ft Lauderdale for the winter

The Centre for Disease Control confirmed an outbreak of Norovirus onboard Holland America’s Zuiderdam.

Here’s the scorecard for the year.

Holland America has had six outbreaks in its ships this year, according to CDC, while Norwegian Cruise Line had four, Princess Cruises had two, and Carnival, Regent Seven Seas and American Canadian Caribbean Line each had a single outbreak.
