There are rumours circulating through a variety of sources that Disney is planning to base one of its ships in the UK, possibly by 2011, when the first of the new Disney ships arrives on the scene.
Disney Magic has already been tapped to sail a series of Baltic cruises next summer from Dover, however at this point, the ship is scheduled back in Florida after the summer.
The British trade travel site has alluded that one of the new ships Fantasy or Dream are due out in 2011 and 12 could be home ported in Dover.
Peter Welch, Disney U.K. Vice President, said recently, "In the next few months we will be sharing information about what these two new ships will be doing. Needless to say we are here in Dover so that gives you a clue as to what might be happening."
Or if not one of the new ships, possibly one of the existing ships? We do know the Disney Wonder is scheduled for West Coast of the U.S. in 2011.
We will have to wait and see but Disney is dropping enough hints that one of the new ships or one of the existing ones will be based in that fast growing UK market.
