Dancing the night away with Crystal

POSTED ON August 12, 2009 8:41 AM

With all the dance shows percolating on our TV screens, luxury line Crystal Cruises’ ballroom dance-themed transatlantic voyage takes off on November 12 on the Crystal Serenity. The 10-day cruise takes passengers from Lisbon to Miami.

While you’re travelling the emptiness of the Atlantic, you can learn how to ballroom dance. When you’re not learning, you can watch how the pros do it. The roster of onboard programming will include dance performances from championship dancers Curtis Collins, Natalie Mavor, Junior Cervila and Beverly Durand.

There’s also an eclectic mix of speakers on this one. Included are Janet Carlson on her book How Ballroom Dancing Saved My Life, College Baseball’s Jerry Kindall, Tony Awards producer Gary Smith and rocket scientist Dr. Tom Logson. (I know, I know…the old joke about rocket scientists…but it doesn’t apply here.)

With 10 days of lessons, you should be a pro by the time you tie up in Miami.

Here are the details.

The cruise visits Lisbon; Ponta Delgada, the Azores; Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos; and Miami.  Fares start at $3,165 per person, based on double occupancy, including a $500 per person ‘All Inclusive – As You Wish’ shipboard credit and Crystal Family Memories amenities.
